| Hi everyone, I've just got back from seeing Wind In the Willows, and like most of the audience absolutely loved it. I knew I was going to be slightly biased seeing that I am a Will fan, but it surpassed even my positive expectations. The theatre itself is small and intimate, which gives the whole production a cosy and warm feel. The set pieces and the costumes were very simple, yet effective - and complemented perfectly the various performers. The cast were simply brilliant. I understand that there were some big names from the world of dance and it showed. But more than anything, you just got the feeling that they were having a great time and really enjoying themselves. In one wintery scene,as snow fell on the stage, it also began to fall delicately onto the audience and it was great seeing the cast's delight at the audience's reaction (especially as there were many children in the crowd). And Will? Well what can I say? The guy has got terrific stage presence and is even more gorgeous in real life. He's actually much taller than I imagined, but is still very graceful. He also had quite an interesting costume: Knee length pants and long socks which showed off his muscular legs to perfection...And at one point he also wore a silver plastic trench coat - looked very dashing.. He was excellent. In fact amongst a medley of popular and charming characters, Will got one of the biggest cheers of the evening - and this is coming from an audience consisting mainly of children and families. Shows what a true star he really is. Lily x |
