Dancer-turned-actor Will Kemp has signed to star alongside Hugh Jackman in Universal's "Van Helsing," directed by Stephen Sommers.
Pic's an action adventure in the mold of "The Mummy," which Sommers also wrote and helmed to blockbuster status. Filming begins in the late fall. Sommers and Bob Ducsay are producing.

Kemp was the lead dancer in the Matthew Bourne stage musicals "Swan Lake," "Cinderella" and "The Car Man"; he signed with WMA to transition to features. He made his acting debut alongside Val Kilmer in the Renny Harlin-directed Dimension film "Mindhunters," to be released in April.

His hoofing talents have also been featured prominently in the fall TV and print campaigns for the Gap. The British-born Kemp is repped in the U.K. by Julian Belfrage Associates.
