| *Here's What's Happening in Will's World* October 29th: First charming little photos of Pinocchio cast are up at ROH2. But hey!!! Where's our Stromboli?!? October 26th: As I was saying, I love the photo of Will as the Swan. "In My Stairwell" is the latest photographic book by ex-Rolling Stone photographer Mark Seliger. Mark is a great photographer and has a cool band called "Rusty Truck". He is also a friend of Will’s and has taken pictures of him for magazines in past years. In his latest book there is a picture of Will as The Swan (taken in 1998 while on Broadway) looking very, very young! It is an excellent book and Will is honored to be alongside people like Julia Roberts, Lenny Kravitz, Mick Jagger and Baryshnikov! At the back of the book each artist has a little introduction, so you get a brief biog. of their work as well. It's a beautiful book and definitely a keeper. The Mindhunters DVD was released in the UK on October 15th – one of Blockbuster's new releases! Go. Hurry. Grab it up. You’ll love the retro beach bum look if you haven’t already seen it. Will also has the best line in the movie. You'll know it when you hear it. You should, of course, own a copy too. Check out Amazon.com (US and UK).. Pinocchio casting will be up soon on the ROH2 website and I understand that Will is going to be in most of the performances. Whew! I know everyone was a bit anxious on that account. Okay. More than a bit. And finally, Miss Daisy May Kemp made her debut with New Adventures when Swan Lake commenced its UK tour. Not only does she play the German Princess, but also the sexy fan dancer. Photo by Bill Cooper. October 24th: Will and mates have broken from Pinocchio rehearsals for a short while and as we wait to find out what Will has up his sleeve next, I thought a little housekeeping might be in order. First, thank you to Roy Tan for the updated News Header above. As you can see I've kept a couple favorite photos, but added some new ones to boot. The entry page is still his Swan....I just love it too much to change it yet. After considerable procrastination ..... like over a year, I finally did finish The Car Man screen caps and the Swan Lake storyboard. Take a cruise through the past if you like. Some more oldies but goodies. These photos appear on the site already, but not in this larger size. My gift to those who don't have these. Remember to use the back browser to return to this page. Check the haircuts - Long. Longer. Longest. And boy oh boy oh boy those green eyes. After much thought I have decided to join the Amazon.com Honor System. The cost of running each site has been creeping up since I first started out with a few pages on this site. I very much want to ensure that Will's site stay online and so in response to some inquiries as to how best to help contribute to the site, Amazon.com came highly recommended by other webmasters. Please understand that this is purely voluntary but that it does help me to keep from resorting to annoying banners and pop-up advertisements to support the site. For more information, check out the bottom left hand side of this page. This is a not-for-profit site. So rest assured anything above what I need to help out will result in an announcement on this page to that affect. I thank you for your support. Finally, what a terrible year for so many with Mother Nature really bringing so much tragedy. One Will Kemp fan who currently resides in London but is from Cancun, has heard from her family that their neighborhood has been destroyed. I know we all send out our hearts and prayers to her and her family and are very happy to know they are indeed safe. A gentle reminder that once again if you've got a few dollars to help out, The Red Cross will be a life saver for many. October 13th: It's another Dream Team in the making. Will Tuckett seems to know how to put them together. Pinocchio will have two casts and one of the Blue Fairies will be played by choreographer Cathy Marston. Her last project was staging Ibsen's "Ghosts", no mean feat that. To learn a little more about Cathy and that production, visit MatthewHart.org. Matthew danced the character of Oswald in the production. October 8th: Whilst we are all still oohing and ahhing over the swoon effect of the news of Baby Kemp, I also have a grown-up Swoon that should bring about a few more oohs and ahhs. You can certainly hear mine because if you like your dancers, tall, dark, dangerously tough and rough handsome with an equally intense style of dance, then boy, I should say man, have I got the dancer for you. Before I go crazy here, it's my pleasure to introduce to you one of the principle dancers for Northern Ballet Theatre: Jonathan Byrne Ollivier. October 6th: Didn't I tell you that news was right around the corner? And there's a marvelous surprise in store for you ...... ******* From Will: Pinocchio rehearsals have now begun! I am confirmed as Stromboli the Sinister (and slightly Crazy) Puppet master! Hooray! Very excited to be back with Will Tuckett, Matthew Hart, Luke Heydon and a great company of both new and familiar faces. The production looks very exciting and Will Tuckett and his artistic team have some wonderful ideas. A cross between Wind in the Willows and The Soldier's Tale perhaps(?) The music is great and so far it looks as if the piece involves a lot of Clever dancing, Colorful songs and Characterful dialogue! All is very busy with rehearsals etc. but has had to be put on hold for a short while as I am thrilled to let you also know that I now have the most amazing baby daughter. Little Miss Kemp arrived safely and without any complication early on Sunday morning! I look forward to bringing you news for the year ahead as soon as it comes in. Best Wishes, Will ( a very, very proud and constantly smiling Daddy) ******* Will and Gaby --- We all wish you heartfelt congratulations, much joy, good health and a life of bliss with this precious little addition to your family. And to you Little Miss Kemp...... welcome to the world and to your very special parents. *************************************************** October 3rd: A member of Friends sent me this little bit of lowdown on that post performance reception after the final show of Highland Fling: "The cast seemed to very much enjoy a final opportunity to get together after a long tour. The Friends had covered the costs of some food and drink which always seems to be appreciated! In fact, we were served bowls of vegetable or lamb curry with rice which was very tasty. The reception was in the Sadler's Wells theatre and as people were happily talking away, they were reluctant to leave and finally had to be sheperded gently out by the very helpful staff. It was also a good opportunity to meet the cast and other Friends. The performance was excellent with a real 'buzz' and at the final curtain Matthew, along with the remaining cast members not dancing that evening, came on to great applause." ........And yes, that included Will. My thanks for this peek at the party! I've been going through my things to see if I might have any photos that I haven't yet posted and I believe these are two which aren't on the site. They are from Will's tour to Japan to promote Van Helsing. Photo one and photo two. (Use back browser button to come back to this page.) I will, of course, post anymore that I come across. We are going through one of our quiet periods. But stay tuned, there is always something just around the corner. September 24th: My friend Roy Tan has sent over some of his exclusive pics from 'Fling'. He is also in the process of revamping his own Will Kemp tribute page. Please check it out and thanks again Roy! ****** It's hard to believe the last time I posted, I was sending out my prayers to all affected by Hurricane Katrina, only to find today I do the same for those so affected by Hurricane Rita. Many remain in need from both devastating events. My thanks to all who are able to give. American Red Cross. September 3rd: Will and Highland Fling are one of the featured stories in the October 2005 issue of Dance Magazine (Japanese edition). Will gets the cover and there are lots of photos inside to boot. So have a peek and see what I mean. I'm betting you will want to get your own hands on our cover boy, so click here. ****** Hurricane Katrina has left so many in devastation and despair. It is heartbreaking to see what they are going through. My own heart goes out to them and I pray that relief and hope will come to them soon. If you have not yet done so, I ask that you please consider making a difference in their lives by making a donation to the American Red Cross. It will only take a moment of your time. And it really will make a difference. Thank you. ****** |
