01-28-03 We do aim to please here at willkemp.org. And as these next set of photos please us mightily, we are pretty sure they will please you as well. More ravishing images from Swan Lake, Act I, Scene 8 and the swans. No concrete word on Van Helsing, although The Hollywood Reporter did move its listing from under preparation to under production with shooting in Los Angeles. Nada on Mindhunters since our last post of that test screening. Still shows release date in U.S. of August 22nd on most movie websites. |
| 01-24-03 I have added some more stills from Swan Lake for your viewing pleasure - a mix of a few different scenes which display the many characters Will plays. Again, if you don't own this film, you need to and not just because Will is in it and he is amazing in every frame. The breathtaking beauty of all those heady, sexy male swans, the spellbinding duets by Adam Cooper and Scott Ambler and the genius of Matthew Bourne make for an incredible experience. There is simply nothing like it out there. Check out collectibles for a link to purchase this absolute treasure. Speaking of Swan Lake and Matthew Bourne, I added another excerpt from his book - something I haven't done in awhile. This one discusses Will's move from dancing as one of the Big Swans to dancing the role of The Swan. And in a recent londondance.com interview, the unparalleled Bourne, amongst other topics, makes mention of Will's dance vs film-making careers. Happy to report we will see Will in another Bourne creation somewhere down the road. Also on that site is an article announcing the nominations for the 2003 Laurence Olivier Awards. Bourne's Play Without Words (in which Will performed) is up for five of the top honors including: Best Entertainment, Best Director, Best Choreographer, Best Set Design and Best Lighting Design. Kudos to you Mr. Bourne and to the entire cast and crew. 01-20-03 Van Helsing launches today - we think. Still no clear indication where shooting starts and we don't know where 'our lad' is, but, we are sure to hear something shortly. In the meantime, check out the studios in Prague, where a good deal of the filming is supposed to take place (a nod to Jackman's Landing). One more test screening of Mindhunters yields yet another relatively positive review over at AICN. And here are some quick screen captures from Swan Lake. My real life (and I do have one!!) is a bit on the hectic side right now, so I haven't had much time yet to get down to the nitty gritty of working on captures or mpegs, but it will happen, I promise. All the same, I will try to get a little something from Swan Lake or The Car Man to you every week. In the meantime, while we wait for Will's Wolf Man to make his appearance, check out the original Wolf Man. |
| 01-12-03 We have more Wind in the Willows photos for you. These are from the newspaper reviews which were previously posted (the articles were originally emailed to me from the newspapers thus no photos). With the exception of the Observer article, I didn't scan the entire article, just clipped the photo. Also did the same with the Lucy Cavendish article - the photos in the article are black and white, I added the color photos; though these are previously seen photos. What I didn't have though was the story's title: "Sexiest Man in Tights". Worth going back and taking another peek at, eh? So, check out - The London Times, The Evening Standard, The Observer and Lucy's article. By next weekend I hope to have all the WITW photos on one page for easy viewing. Many thanks again to my London cohort, Lily, for these treasures. Found this on the New York Times online site. It's a sneak peek at Van Helsing via pictures of past Van Helsing, Dracula, Wolf Man and Frankenstein's Monster movies. Should bring back memories for many and get you psyched for the upcoming film. This is a site which is to be updated as filming progresses, so you may want to bookmark it, though of course, we will still try to give you a heads up. One talented Hugh Jackman fan has already come up with his or her rendition of what the Van Helsing cast will look like in the film. So scoot over to Jackman's Landing and check out the January 10th news. |
| 01-10-03 Most of us didn't get to see the Wind in the Willows. But thanks to Lily, we do have the programme. It has some terrific cast photos and is done up in a simple, but quite nice style. More WITW items to follow shortly. Is Will coming to America soon? We noticed that the Hollywood Reporter now shows Van Helsing will begin shooting in Los Angeles on January 20th. Previous listings had shown Prague, Paris, Rome and Los Angeles locations. But since they removed the other cities from the listing, 'we wondered' (as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City would phrase her pondering) .....does this mean that filming will therefore begin in Los Angeles? Incidentally, Variety still shows Prague, Paris and Rome locations with filming to have begun January 1st. Hmmmm. Inquiring minds.... yada, yada, yada.... On to Mindhunters...someone actually saw the film - test screening - check out Corona's Coming Attractions for the brief review. Hint, it's a positive one. 01-08-03 This treasure comes from the London Sunday Times Magazine with thanks to Lily for dispatching it to me so we may now share it with all of you. Words fail. See why for yourselves - enoy ! 01-05-03 Hello all! Hope everyone had a great New Years. While we eagerly await the startup of Van Helsing in a few weeks, we still have some 2002 items for you, including this review of Play Without Words from the December issue of Dance Magazine. It includes a new pic of Will. We also have one more Wind in the Willows review, this one is from Time Out London. Also, from their December issues, Metro and Genre magazines both remembered Will fondly in their 'favorites of 2002' lists. And just to let you know, Lily's package with the WITW programme, news clippings and photos is enroute from London this very minute. Hope to have those items for you by the weekend. Yay!! |
