June 29th:

Today is Will's 30th birthday!

  Warmest wishes from us all Will!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
June 25th:
Admit it! You thought I had forgotten about Will, and all of you as well.
Au contraire. And shame on you for thinking that. In any case, I have something so worth the wait that I must confess, even I, disciplined fan and webmistress that I am, succumbed to a few 'omg, he is so gorgeous' moments as I was putting this collection together; especially embarrassing  because I am old enough to be his mother! Good grief. I hope there is a 12 step program for this sort of thing.
Anyway, I hope you are with someone who knows CPR. Management firmly states now that it cannot be held liable for ensuing conditions brought on by dizziness, shortness of breath, heartstoppage or moments of delirium. Be sure you are sufficiently recovered before attempting to drive a car or handle heavy equipment. Enter at your own risk........
May 31st:
Cha-ching! The final curtain for EQUUS (the West End run anyway) is coming up June 9th. An interesting article in yesterday's Telegraph cuts us in on the money end of the production.
May 16th:
To catch a glimpse of Will at the Dance Umbrella fundraising event this past weekend, as well as find out what his personal 'must see' list of films and stage productions are click here!
The LA Times Styles and Scenes section from May 12th is back on the '
Manhunt'. The suggestion of Will to play Abraham Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth, was also brought up in the Styles & Scenes section back in February of 2006.
Happy 100th! Today's matinee of
Equus will be the production's 100th show.
April 21st:
It has been confirmed that EQUUS will close out its wildly successful West End run on 09 June 2007. Up to now there had been rumours of the show extending the run with cast replacements. But the production's director Thea Sharrock has reportedly decided to end on a high note. Pretty high note - it broke West End records recouping its costs in the first nine weeks of the play while also being the most expensive West End play.
Several articles have come out regarding the close of the production and future plans which include a 2008 Broadway season possibly with Radcliffe and Richards reprising their roles. Nothing official on that front as well as the stories of Australian and UK tours mentioned.
And nothing official in regards to Will's plans for the Broadway season either. There is always something in the mix with him so we will have to wait for word on his next project(s).
Here are a few of the EQUUS articles:
"Equus confirmed for Broadway..." -
Playbill.
"Doherty will not follow Radcliffe into Equus"
Telegraph.
"Broadway bound Equus to close..." -
BroadwayWorld.
April 11th:
"We are able to suspend belief enough to believe that these men are horses even as they walk warily into the stable. Outstanding among them is
Will Kemp in the dual role of The Rider and Nugget, the favoured horse of the equine-obsessed teen. His first sudden appearance as The Rider galloping along the beach is a numinous moment for the sexually repressed child.  Kemp plays The Rider larger than life and effortlessly scoops Radcliffe onto his shoulders to run around the stage to create a cantor along the shoreline. It is, literally, a towering performance from Kemp and he seems larger than anyone else on the stage as he cavorts with the young star athwart his neck." - Read the entire
Dance Europe review.
Bravo Will!
April 5th:
Mystery Date. Will has a dinner and dance date coming up next month and even he doesn't know with whom it will be.  Dance Umbrella is hosting a very special fundraising event 'Spring at the Savoy' on 13 May.
Click on the link above to see what is included in this resplendent evening, which in addition to Will (like that's not enough??) includes rubbing elbows with these superstar celebrities -
Mark Baldwin (Artistic Director of Rambert Dance Company)
Deborah Bull (Dancer and creative director of ROH2 at the Royal Opera House)
Simon Callow (Actor, writer and director)
Siobhan Davies (Artistic Director of Siobhan Davies Dance Company) Thomas Edur and Agnes Oakes (Guest artists with English National Ballet)
The highest bidders will be seated next to their celebrity guest for the evening as well as share a dance with that celebrity. You must have your bid in by 30 April and highest bidders will be notified on 01 May. You may also attend the event without participating in the silent auction. Tickets are £165 per person or £1650 to host a table of ten.
