| December 30th: Open For Business. Will now has an 'official', Official Website as you can see from the link on the masthead above. A fantastic design, created by Shaun Pearce, which I think is very cool and very....'Will'. I also think it is quite wonderful to finally have a 'big brother' site to keep us informed so we will now know what is fact and what is fiction. Will is still going to be stopping by wk.org from time to time with bits of news and such. In fact, I have a message from him to share with you right at this very moment....you didn't really think that 2006 would go by without his cheery year-end message, did you? Away you go and we shall all meet back here in 2007! All the best. December 28th: The third and final part of the interview with Inés Paris is now available for your reading pleasure. Included are her thoughts on directing her first solo film, Miguel and William. The 'play's the thing'. Yet another quote from WS. Here are some photos from the film in which indeed, the play really is the thing. There are quite a few shots of this scene so I will just start you off with this dozen or so. Wouldn't want to ruin the plot. (Ha Ha!) The WS quote, by the way, is from Hamlet. Our 'Pic of the Week' is a family affair. Well, this is going to be my last post of 2006, barring anything big that comes along (and you just never know when that is going to happen, do you?). I intend to get to work behind the scenes and try to finish as much of the main photo gallery as possible by the start of the New Year. Wish me luck! I just want to thank everyone who visits this site, especially Mariela who has played a key role in the creation of the Miguel and William production page. Another huge thank you to the great people at Warner Brothers Spain who have been brilliant and generous and basically honored us with a collection of photos and interviews (coming next year) which very few fan sites are ever privy to prior or after the release of a film. It is a gift so enormous, I can't possibly express my full gratitude. To Will, for your steadfast support of this site, for your touching and consistent appreciation of the work done on the site and for just being an all around terrific guy in every way, it continues to be my pleasure and distinct honor to run this website, to support your career and to let the world know you are a rising star with whom to be reckoned. I would also like to thank your parents, Rosi and Barry, for all the kindnesses that they have extended to me. I wish you and all of your family every good thing in the coming year. ____________________________________________________________ With warmest regards to every one of you.... ~~ Dani ____________________________________________________________ December 24th: This past Friday it appears that a couple friends of mine must have been reading the same article in London's Daily Mail around about the same time because their emails logged in within a couple hours of each other. The article was about Will.....and his next project.....and it begins with an 'E', except it is not about the film 'Ecstasy'. Say what? How do you fancy this? It's a play that first premiered in London in 1973, went on to Broadway and won a Tony award, then was made into a major motion picture. Amongst those who performed in either the stage or film version were Peter Firth, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Holce, Anthony Perkins and Richard Burton. The play was written by Peter Shaffer and is considered one of the most significant works ever written for the stage. If you guessed 'Equus', you guessed right. First, the Daily Mail article. Second, the Official Website, which as of this posting has not confirmed all the casting yet. Third, information on the Gielgud Theatre where the play is slated to run from 16 February to 09 June, 2007. Fourth, you know the drill. It's not official until we hear it from Will...or should I say, 'straight from the horse's mouth'? Oh c'mon; you knew I was going to fit that in somewhere. In any case, being well of age when the stage production first opened, I can guarantee that you will never, ever forget 'Equus' should you get the chance to see it performed. As well, I personally believe that if this dual role is confirmed, it may well end up being Will's most brilliant and acclaimed performance yet. And let's face it, since he continues to out-brilliant himself in every production that he is in....well, we had all better find a way to get to London is all I can say. And what about 'Ecstasy' you ask? Still in the works as far as I know, but filming has been postponed for the time being. Now, back on solid ground where we've the proof in photos. Who isn't looking for a knight-in-shining-armor to come to their rescue and whisk them off to ..... well, wherever. I just happen to have one for you. I've added several production shots from the filming of Miguel & William. Enjoy!! As for the 'Pic of the Week', it's titled, "What a piece of work is man", which is a quote from Shakespeare's Hamlet; though if you look up the actual entirety of the quote, you will see that I've somewhat twisted the meaning to fit my own whimsy. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone! December 18th: I have part two of that great interview with Inés Paris. Is she not an incredibly interesting woman? Very strong and candid and funny too. Also, Will is exposed to more than one million Spanish readers. (That sounds so tabloid, doesn't it?) Actually I was told that this publication really is read by over 1 million people. After this photo introduction, next time he goes back to Spain he will have to wear dark sunglasses and a baseball cap, just like lots of celebrities do to keep from being recognized. Finally, this is my across the board webmaster apology. As many of you know I run three websites entirely by myself. Websites that are meant to be kept as current as humanly possible. I never thought I would see the day that I would have to say I have more photos and information than I can manage, not just for one site but for all three. Also, usually once a year I attempt to go through the sites and update and clean-up pages that are in dire need of it. And right now they are getting to that dire stage. Well, I must ask for your patience as I try to keep all the balls up in the air at the same time, which right now means a slower update process than I would need if I were only doing one site and had all this wealth of material that I currently have and can't wait to share with you. So as a token of my gratefulness for your patience, I am going to give you one of my 'ace up the sleeve' photos that I had planned to hold off showing until just before the film was released. Fortunately there are a few more in this set, so you will see them in a couple of months. This image I have entitled "Great Bedside Manner". (For some of you - try to remain calm). December 13th: Today we follow Cervantes and Shakespeare as they hit the dusty trail. Miguel's transport is beautiful, elegant and spacious. Will's ride is more the economy size...no more like cute and sporty....well, maybe not sporty but most definitely cute. On you go... So, I have to tell you a little gossip I heard from one of my sources. It seems initially Will was told he would be doing some horseback riding in the film. He of course figured a horse. But when the time came to shoot those particular scenes, they turned up with this donkey (well actually a mule). Their thinking, of course, was that it would be much more comedic - Cervantes on this magnificent, majestic and powerful creature and Shakespeare trodding along next to him on his provincial beast of burden. After seeing the photos, it really is quite a hilarious image, isn't it? Good call. Also, one other thing I was told in regards to his four legged acting partner. In one scene Will is supposed to run at him, jump on and ride off. Apparently on one of the takes though, he ran at him, jumped up on one side but landed straight off on the other side, much to everyone's amusement. Not to worry. I hear he wasn't hurt (other than a bit of his ego I think). Actually, this would be a good opportunity for me to jump up and down one side and the other myself and thank Warner Brothers Spain again for everything they've been sending to me for this site. It's like winning the webmaster lottery. Of course, it means we all win. Lastly, in keeping with the animal theme today, a little informal poll. Who do you think is cutest in this photo? (Sorry Will, you know I think you are adorable, but for myself, I have to go with those fuzzy ears)! December 7th: Quiet on the set! Take one. Actually this is Take 11 with the next group of photos shot while filming on location. Sorry, gotta say it - "Those boots were made for walkin". (Nancy Sinatra song....you probably have to be part of the baby-boomer generation to know it. Sadly, I remember the lyrics). Anyway, lovin' those leather boots WS puts to good use. As the weekend nears, here's one for the road. Part two of the interview with Inés Paris and more photos coming soon and only at willkemp.org. December 4th: What a flirt! And I meant Shakespeare. Get use to seeing a lot of different ladies latching on to WS any which way they can. Picking up from where we last left off, here are several more photos for the M&W Gallery. Another chance to better get to know M&W director, Inés Paris, is in the first of this three part interview. If you are spanish speaking, you will be able to read the entire article and see the video edition online now. But for the rest of us who are limited to por favor and gracias, Part One. November 29th: Will and Juan and a lot of lovely ladies all to themselves. I've added a few more shots from that photo call way back in February. Has it been that long? I particularly like the last photo. I can think of at least three good captions for it...but fortunately for you I will keep them to myself. I've also started two photo galleries; one for still shots from the film and the other for production shots taken during filming. Just so you know, none of the photos that go into these galleries are going to be in any particular order, i.e. following the story line. As I haven't seen the film I couldn't begin to put the puzzle together. I also don't know all the names for all the faces. But in time I hope to go back and remedy that. And possibly after the film comes out do a storyboard for it. But for now, the joyous task of getting the photos to you and building up your anticipation for the film's release and for a Shakespeare like no other. By the way, if you didn't notice on the M&W page, there is a note that the website we've been linking to for the film is not actually the official website. This one is meant as more of a teaser. The official site will open closer to the film's release. That is the word through the grapevine in any case. November 27th: I have started updating the Miguel & William page. While I get together the first set of film shots for the gallery, I have gone ahead and added a few more of the 'ready for the cover of GQ' shots to the photo gallery. November 22nd: Okay, twist my arm. I will put up a few more photos. Three are of the 'he should be back up on the entire side of a Hollywood building' nature. And four are a taste of what's to come promoting 'Miguel and William'. Happy Thanksgiving to you State-siders. November 21st: It's been a long, lonely month hasn't it? Well those days are going to be but a dim memory pretty quickly here. And as so many of you have been stalwart fans checking in every day (yep I keep tabs), I am going to start you off with a reward of four photos that will probably put some of you in need of immediate paramedic assistance...... ......George Clooney 'Sexiest Man Alive'? Pfffft! Get real! (Don't forget to come back to this page after viewing photos. More scintillating news below). So....what's Will been doing that he has been off the radar for awhile? Well, he has been busy working towards his next project. It appears that he may well be in final talks to topline the film 'Ecstasy'. Topline as in 'the star' of the film! According to IMDb, he has been cast in the role of Lloyd Buist in the Rob Heydon film based on the Irvine Welsh novel, "Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance". The film is based on the third story "The Undefeated". Who is Irvine Welsh you ask? Well, amongst quite a few acclaimed novels he has written is one called "Trainspotting", which was made into a hugely successful movie in 1996 starring Ewan McGregor. I have collected a few articles regarding the author, the director, the current cast, the novel and the film to get us psyched. (Like we really need help getting psyched for a Will Kemp project). In any case..... "Contemporary Writers" - The British Arts Council "Cast Lines up for Taste of Ecstasy" - Scotsman.com "Award Winning Director set to Helm Ecstasy Film" - Jive Magazine "Love is a Many Splintered Thing" - Spike Magazine Remember!!! Nothing has been confirmed yet. The start date for filming hasn't even been determined. Until we hear it from Mr. Kemp himself, it is not official. But ooooh what a great role, eh? Fingers crossed. So, coming soon - very, very soon - photos from 'Miguel & William'. More photos than you can ever imagine. So many photos it's almost like seeing the movie. You should know that we have Warner Brothers Spain to thank for this and if Shakespeare were alive today I'd have him write a sonnet in thanks. One last bit of business. Will's sister Daisy May and her mates in the New Adventures cast of 'Swan Lake' are back on tour. The Company is currently in Paris and then it's Sadler's Wells (London) over the Christmas holidays, followed by Australia, Greece and Russia. Safe journey and best wishes Daisy. Have a brilliant time. |
