March 29th: Ballet Dancer Petrifies Casting Director!! Total Film's May issue is out in the UK and yay! there is a small bit on Will as well as a new photo. I will link you over to Uploadit.org for the article and photos. I hope to have my own scan of the article by week's end so we can have a much better look at that very nice photo and great sidebar piece. Thanks to Sarah for sending in the link. Much appreciated. Heard it through the grapevine. It seems the cast of "The Soldier's Tale" had been in rehearsal with William Tuckett for this summer's production. However, rehearsals have ceased for the next nine weeks because both Adam Cooper and Matthew Hart are now in rehearsal for the upcoming tour of "On Your Toes". OYT heads to Japan late in April. From what I've heard, "Soldier's Tale" is quite an exhausting piece with all four dancers (Will, Matthew, Adam and Zenaida) on stage virtually the entire time. Certainly good news for those of us in the audience. I've also heard, but have not yet confirmed, that Will is probably going to be attending both the New York and Los Angeles premieres of "Van Helsing". Again, I don't know this for a fact, but of course, armed with this morsel, I shall see what I can confirm for us. I am going to be out of town the rest of the week, until Friday, in any case. There will probably not be any updates until then as I will have limited computer access. Enjoy your week and if you see any Will news, pleeeze - email it my way. April should be a pretty good news month. May will hopefully blow us away. March 26th: The Big Picture. Actually, two big pictures. These stills and more come courtesy of the website OutNow. Why leading men can't be named Abraham; why Wolf Man bares all; and does Frankenstein have a Doc Martens fetish? Check it out. Starburst Magazine, issue 308; another Van Helsing cover and several pages dedicated to the film. New photos, some new quotes. Alas, none of/from our guy.... But we WILL see that change next month....I have it on good authority. Thanks to Nic, Carol and Joanna. It's a getaway Friday. Have a great one. March 24th: Werewolf of London. Will talks wolfish ways, risky business, making Kate cry and Hugh's to blame for.......For what? Find out as Will sits down with Horror.com. March 22nd: Be still my heart. Stills. You want 'em? You got 'em. There is a short frame-to-frame of Wolf Man looking pretty cranky and a couple of quick gotchas. There are also various screen shots of the other Helsing characters in their respective galleries. I have Cleolinda, the webmistress extraordinaire over at Daily Digest to thank for these. You may want to head over to her place as I have used smaller versions of the stills she made. She also has several stills not shown on this site. CL, you are the bomb!! And good luck at the dentist girl! (Be patient getting into her site. She is, no doubt, going to be bombarded with visitors wanting a peek at the 180 stills she made!) Speaking of stills, last week's shot of Will and Kate has been supersized for your viewing pleasure thanks to TrekNews. I have a partial transcript and some of the photos from Entertainment Weekly for those who have not had a chance to pick up their copy. Now, if anyone can fight vampires in thigh-high suede boots, it's Kate Beckinsale. Actually it's probably easier than walking around in Frankenstein's shoes, which look like they weigh about 100 pounds each. Nifty photos, though. Trick or treat? It may be a tad early to be thinking about this year's Halloween costume, but Universal and their merry band of marketeers are already on it for you. Creature-Corner offers the first look at what to expect. Now that I've created a website for Matthew Bourne, dance news not directly related to Will now appears on that site. The "Dancers Who Make Us Swoon" page, however, will continue to be on this site for the foreseeable future..... And I am very happy to say a new inductee is being added today. This dancer/choreographer is as all American as you can get - straight from the heartland. He has a decidedly earthy, very raw, emotional edge in his dramatic performances, but has great comedic timing and a wonderful, whimsical flair in more lighthearted roles. It should also be noted that he has moves that could get him a try-out with the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team. At 26 years old, he has very quickly come into his own, not only as a dancer but also as a choreographer. Having myself, been fortunate to see him in several productions, I whole heartedly agree with the writer who suggested he be added to our hallowed hall of fame. Jason Hartley is most definitely swoonworthy. My thanks again to Cleolinda and also to my pal Nic. They are a lethal one-two punch. March 19th: Second Update: The new, full length, knock your socks off trailer is online. March 19th: A monster of a trailer. Access Hollywood unveiled the new Van Helsing trailer last night and it is indeed bigger and better. A good deal more footage and a bit more innuendo about Van Helsing, what drives him, and hints at his past relationship (?) with Dracula as well as his budding one with Anna. There are two very quick Wolf Man sightings; one with our favorite werewolf in his tattered trousers lurking in the dark looking for trouble, and one where he is crawling down a beam, snarling teeth, with sister Anna in his sights. Dracula features as prominently as Van Helsing in this trailer and I have to say amen to that because Roxburgh cuts a very cool Drac. This trailer includes character dialogue and certainly furthers the storyline for we anxiously waiting fans. Access Hollywood has promised more Van Helsing coverage on tonight's show. To go with that new trailer, how about a new poster? Latino Review has it for you. It's hitting newstands - the new issue of Entertainment Weekly and you can't miss it because Hugh Jackman graces the cover and Van Helsing is splashed across it. Any good magazine scans and if I can manage any reasonable stills from the Access Hollywood footage, they will be posted Monday. No promises though because the trailer footage taken from TV is very dark and both of Will's bits are split second shots so I'm not sure yet the result. With any luck the new trailer will soon come online in glorious Quicktime and I can get stills off of that. Fingers crossed. Great weekend all. March 16th: Are you ready? Exhibit One: The Photo. Exhibit Two: The Interview. And if you think you've read everything Hugh Jackman and Stephen Sommers have to say on the film, better check out: Exhibit Three. Some great, fresh stuff in there plus fantastic new photos. Meanwhile, back over at horror.com, producer Bob Ducsay talks organic monsters. Thanks to the gals at JL and thanks and props to Jakob. March 12th: One lump or two? A rather mixed review of the Van Helsing script is up at UnderGroundOnline. His plane may have just touched ground, but Will's buddy Matthew Bourne is still flying high from a rousing reception in Japan. And why is that? Check out the latest news over at MatthewBourne.Org. With that I bid you a fantastic weekend. March 11th: Music to our ears. Alan Silvestri, the man who scored such films as "The Mummy", "Cast Away", and "Forest Gump", talks briefly about his most recent film, "Van Helsing", over at Music From the Movies. The movie soundtrack will be available on May 4th and can be preordered now through the official website or amazon.com. Thanks to Carol, webmaster at ShulerHensley.com. March 10th: Sneak Peek. That May 7th release date for Van Helsing may have just moved up for some of you who live in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York. Universal and Premiere Magazine are holding drawings for a special advance screening in those cities. Good luck! Van Helsing starts to hit the magazine stands. While the articles in the following three issues don't cover much new territory from what we've already read up on, they are still fairly hype-worthy. Film Review, which had an online preview (see below Feb 17th), has a colorful presentation, though info wise, it does not go on much past what was posted in that online piece. Movie Magic has a multi-page spread that includes some behind the scenes photos of Frankenstein, Jackman, Beckinsale, Drac and his brides. Fangoria also has several pages on the film, many photos, but only one of them new. There was, however, a new quote from Will in that issue: "The Valerious family has sworn to vanquish Dracula, and unless they do, they cannot enter the gates of heaven. So he's a hothead, quite proud. He's very active and when they try to trap one of the werewolves, it goes horribly wrong. And from that point on, it just tumbles into a very interesting, fun tale." Counting the days until that horror.com interview...... My thanks to Joanna and Heather. March 5th: New Beginning. A couple different photos and easy access links to Will's current projects are evident. But there is a dramatic change you won't have noticed if you are bookmarked to enter the site directly to this page. My dear friend Roy has designed a new entry page to help usher in what is fast becoming a very exciting year in Will's career. I've been waiting for the right photo to come along, but this is much better than just a photo. I hope you all enjoy it. Me, I'm loving it big time. Note, if you have dial-up, it may take a moment to download the images. Much gratitude to my one-of-a-kind buddy in London for creating this gift for me. Welcome to WillKemp.Org March 4th: Put your game face on. Chapter One of Van Helsing (the game) is previewing over on the official site. IGN Filmforce has a pretty good article on the game as well. "Fortunately, we won't be seeing any vampire shagging." Hmmm. Empire Magazine has another VH shortie in their just out April issue. March 3rd: Shuler Hensley talks baseball, ballet, and taking it all off. Check out Horror.com's interview with Frankenstein's Monster. The ROH has updated "The Soldier's Tale" page to include the cast and their roles as well as some pretty nifty costume designs from Lez Brotherston. |
