| August 25th: Row, row, row your....raft?? Helsing's Frankenstein makes like Huck Finn. And we are coming down the stretch with Seabiscuit. August 19th: Works like magic! Our crocodile tears yesterday caught the attention of a wonderful soul who filled us in on a bit of news regarding Will's film, "Remains". Apparently, filming has been delayed due to the illness of Geoffrey Rush's wife. No further word as to start up. But isn't it nice to know even this bit of news? A sincere thank you to our kind source. Now, get out your checkbooks and credit cards. Many of the photos from the Seabiscuit premiere and from Comic-Con, may now be yours in 8x12 digital wonder. No more squinting - you really will see just how green those beautiful eyes of Will's are. Check out two links. WireImage is where you can view the photos. Jackman's Landing is where you can find the purchase information. Suuweeet! Our thanks to Nic and the gang over at Jackman's Landing for letting us know about this great and rare opportunity. We also wish to thank Mr. Ortega for his kindness in allowing us to purchase these treasures. August 18th: Nah, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth - but we are beginning to suspect Will may have. Hopefully, he's well rested and ready for his next film adventure, Remains of the Piano, which was slated to begin principle photography today. As of yet, the lips of all those whom we would normally seek out for confirmation, remain sealed. Perhaps it is time to pull out our whining 'drought speech' because generally in the past, interesting news or photos have magically come our way shortly thereafter. Maybe if we just grovel, beg, and plead instead? Okay, maybe not. We do have the latest newfriends newsletter in hand and we can share a little of it with you. Just a recap in case you missed earlier updates. We've already mentioned the revival of 'Spitfire' for the Dance Umbrella's 25th Anniversary Gala this September. But we can now also add some of Matt's comments regarding the casting of the show. Says Matt, "Val Bourne, the director of Dance Umbrella (no relation), wanted the original cast to perform it, but that would have meant me parading around on stage in Y-fronts. I'm afraid I quickly declined." Funny guy!! We also mentioned that Nutcracker! and Play Without Words both start runs this winter. And Swan Lake will return summer of 2004. What we just found out regarding Play Without Words, however, is the GIGANTIC news that the production has been invited to perform in Tokyo and New York. Ohhhhh, yesssssssss!! We will let you know when dates become available. Nearly the entire original cast will be in the upcoming production, minus, sadly for him and us, our Will. Sam Archer who was last in seen in The Car Man, will join the production. Ben Wright, who co-created the role of The Prince in Swan Lake, is interviewed and reveals some great moments from the recent Japanese tour. A couple other names to drop from this issue include the multi-talented Arthur Pita and the brilliantly creative, award winning designer of many of Matt's productions, Lez Brotherston. Oh, and Will Kemp was mentioned as well. Unfortunately, we are not at liberty to reveal much more. We really aren't trying to be mean, but we cannot devulge everything in the newsletter. One, it wouldn't be proper and two, as you are well aware, we LOVE Matthew Bourne and his work and we want everyone to support him and his company, New Adventures. So, this is one little way we can entice you to become a member. Join up, get the inside scoops and support his troops, which still include Will. And remember, some of your membership money may go towards developing new works. Good grief! How can you not want to contribute to the making of Edward Scissorhands? It's going to blow everyone out of the water. It's already got multiple Olivier winner written all over it. Trust us. We know what we are talking about. So, give June Bourne a call.and sign on up. She's wonderful about including back issues too. Actually, she is just plain wonderful. And to Will, we wish you a great time working with Eric Idle and that fabulous ensemble cast. And to the gang tuning faithly into wk.org. - again, hang in there. We will start putting together a 'Remains' page and complete cast roster this week. And of course, the ever vigilant eye for any production news. August 11th: Before Mandy left for vacation yesterday, she scooped up several items for our Adam Cooper section. First, check out Newsbites for the latest on Adam's December calendar, along with a couple recent interview type articles which include photos. Next, the first reviews are in for On Your Toes, which is fast becoming a runaway hit. Also, our AC photo page has expanded to two pages - yay - and we've added a couple new photos for you to get jazzed about. Finally, if you visit News and Reviews, you will note that we now have links to two AC fan sites from Japan. Rosecut, which has been a site link since our Cooper page opened, has a new home and, Mitori, our new webmaster friend, has also created a site to honor Adam. We invite you to pay a visit to both of these lovely sites. Thanks Mandy for all this great Adam scoopage. Bon voyage and don't forget what I said about those patisseries! Happy Monday all! Pray for Will news or maybe another premiere! August 6th: Seabiscuit just keeps on coming. One more photo of Will and a truly beautiful one at that. Incredible face. Definitely has that leading man look in this shot. We are still trying to confirm Will's shooting schedule for 'Remains' - presumably he starts middle of this month. We've come up empty handed thus far. But you know us - we never give up hope. On Your Toes is in previews right now so we thought we'd share this preview poster with you. We also have a recent article on the dynamic duo of Adam Cooper and Sarah Wildor that you might want to check out. Once the reviews for OYT start coming in, we will try to get as many to you as we can, along with any photos of course. And now that Swoon we have been promising you. This bone fide Italian heart throb has been hailed as 'The Pride of Milan'. He is known for his magnificent form and his beautiful and graceful style. We are also pretty sure he is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound judging by the heights at which he sails across the stage. And looks? He's got that Romeo and Prince Charming thing going big time - he's both a stunner and swoon master. It's our pleasure to introduce you to Mr. Roberto Bolle. August 4th: Well, don't know about you, but we are still feeling a little dizzy from the lethal one-two punch of Roy's beautiful photography and Adam Cooper's biceps!! My oh my...... Thanks again Roy. We do have some more Cooper stuff for you. Plus we promised you a Prince of a Swoon. But Mandy and I both agreed after loading these Swan Lake photos, that they deserved a day of their own. Seeing these beautiful photos, and how incredible Will looks in this role, has reminded me all over again just how much I truly missed out on. But maybe just maybe my prayers, and that of many others, will be answered since Swan Lake is coming back (thank you a million times Matthew Bourne) and Will has already said he wants to be a part of it. So here's hoping what seemed a near impossible dream will instead become a dream come true. In the meantime, while we wait to find out, we are at least able to share some breathtaking photos of Will as he danced the role of The Swan during the Broadway season. The photos say it all - he is astonishing. Will Kemp as The Swan. August 2nd: Adam Cooper fans steel yourselves. We've come into some very hot and exclusive photos of Adam and gorgeous wife Sarah Wildor from an 'On Your Toes' photo shoot yesterday afternoon. These treasures were sent to us by a one of a kind friend for whom we have run out of words to thank properly. He is just simply, the best. On Your Toes opens at the ROH Festival Hall in London on August 7th and runs through September 6th. Enjoy these beauties everyone...we certainly are..... *smile* sigh* thud*!! August 1st: Patience is a virtue that is often rewarded. We finally got our hands on a souvenir programme from Swan Lake's Broadway season and discovered it was full of photos featuring Will as The Swan/Stranger. We've got two of those photos to share with you today and the rest will be posted on Monday. Enjoy his Willness - photo 1 and photo 2. Have you always wished for Prince Charming? Or maybe Romeo is more your type. Well, we've found both and he's one and the same. Check back on Monday to meet our newest Swoon...and bring sunglasses. This guy has a 1000 watt smile. Stay cool and have a great weekend. |
