July 30th: More pics of Will at the Seabiscuit Premiere (again in the convenient economy size), and three lovely pics of Will in a more Hulk size. What do fast food, cigarettes and Emma Thompson licking feather breeches have in common? Answer: Adam Cooper. July 28th: Leading role possible for Will in the near future?? Could be. Nic at JL scooped this transcript from a recent LA paper which has Will up for the lead in a new Disney flick entitled "Manhunt". His competition? Some of Hollywood's heavy hitters including Nic's own Hugh Jackman, Johnny Depp, and Orlando Bloom. The role? That of the dashing and infamous Lincoln assassin, John Wilkes Booth. It is not completely clear whether this is mere speculation or that they all are indeed in the running for this prime role. So, do you want to know what they had to say abour our Will? Read on dear Kemp fan and you shall be rewarded. And Nic, have we told you lately how much you rock? We have one last word out of Comic-Con as countingdown.com weighs in with their final report. You know, there is just something about a man with a broad back and muscles, nicely defined biceps and a devilish twinkle in his eyes. Now add to that the fact that he is an incredibly powerful and commanding dancer who moves with a mesmerizing grace, has a beguiling stage presence, and offstage is charming, funny and a bit shy (always an endearing quality in our books). Well, we know of such a guy and that's why we've voted him in as our newest Swoonworthy dancer. It does indeed give us great pleasure to introduce to you.....Mr. Simon Cooper. July 24th: Guess who was at the Seabiscuit Premiere? Yep, our very own Mr. Hollywood was captured strolling down that red carpet...captured quite a few times as a matter of fact. Obviously he was enjoying himself as he hammed it up a bit for the photographers...who seemed to take a shine to him judging by the number of photos they took. We keep telling you, in a year's time... July 23rd: More Comic-Con for you. The Movie Box made some screen captures from the Van Helsing panel which gives us our first chance to meet most of the main characters.....the best is at the last. And, it's back to yesterday's photo page from the Con as we've added three new pics of Will. They're tiny but would you have wanted to miss these? Thanks to our ever lovin' sisters in webmaster crime, Nic from JL and Meg and Non from Will Kemp Japan. July 22nd: If you live even remotely close to San Diego, dear Will Kemp fan, you may want to start kicking yourself about now, because as it turns out --- WILL WAS THERE!! - along with most of the main players. Previously it had been announced only Sommers, Jackman and Beckinsale would be present. In any case, you can read about it at AICN, Dark Horizons and CHUD . (All under July 21 news). Thanks to Nic at Jackman's Landing, Patsie at delicious-blue, and a devoted Will Kemp fan who prefers to remain anonymous. P.S. Happy Birthday Adam Cooper! July 21st: Um, fingers still crossed. Sunday being a day of rest and all, we are still waiting for Saturday's Van Helsing showing at Comic Con to produce some news......hang tight. Still, a whole lotta 'friends of Will' goodies to share with you. So onward. As promised, George Piper Dances U.S. tour dates and cities are here for you Americanos at long last. Dig in. From the world of the marvelous Matthew Bourne, two scoops. First, if you missed Swan Lake the first few go 'rounds, not to fret. This immortilized classic is coming back. Sadler's Wells (London) has just announced their 2004 summer schedule and you will have two glorious months to take in this beauty. While independently we've heard some names bantered about for the production, as we have not been able to confirm them yet, we will error on the side of caution and just say that every one of the names has appeared on this site, some of them in the Swoon section. *smile*. Save those pennies to get to London! Also taking place in London at Sadler's Wells, the Dance Umbrella Gala on September 28th of this year. One of the features will be Mr. Bourne's clever 'underwear ballet', Spitfire. We've put together for you the few photos and articles we have on this gem. Incidentally, as you will read, Will performed in this inventive and highly entertaining lampoon of advertising and narcisism in the form of dance a few years back. But we understand he will not be in this performance due to his film schedule. However, we have learned that Matthew has some of his favorites lined up and again, as soon as we can get confirmation on this, we will certainly let you know. Finally, and well worth waiting for, the first of two Swoons coming at you. Our latest dancer who makes us Swoon is an international star who needs little introduction to the avid dance fan out there. But even if you are familiar with his name, have you been lucky enough to see him get down and dirty to the Afro-Cuban rhythms of the Havana streets?.....read on....and find out what makes Carlos Acosta oh so very swoonable! July 18th: Fingers crossed. Prayers said. Tomorrow Sommers, Jackman and Beckinsale hit Comic-Con along with some clips from Van Helsing. So says USA Today. Here's hoping some of that hype will come our way as well. We'll let you know on Monday. Thanks to comingsoon.net for the heads-up. Also, a bite or two more on Van Helsing. Our friends at Jackman's Landing found a couple articles - one relating to possible reshoots and the other about the company who will be making the action figures for the flick. What no lunch boxes and fanny packs??? Our lovely Mandy was one of the oh so lucky ducks to be at Exeter this weekend taking in Adam Cooper's fabulous feast for the eyes and ears. We who were not able to attend continue to feel sorry for ourselves. But please do check out the programme details and stellar review which go a long way to making you feel as if you were there. Thanks Mandy. George Piper Dances - You know how much we love 'em. So it gives us great pleasure to be able to pass along the latest news out of their camp...including further confirmation of that U.S. tour. Counting the days.... Boyz in Briefs and Boyz in Feathers. Those will be Monday's stories along with any Van Helsing news. As for Will.....we remain vigilant as always. Great weekend all. July 14th: Yep it's official - we are in a Will drought! Hope you've saved up your memories because it might be just awhile before we stumble across any news. Of course, by saying that, we hope in a couple days we will be proven wrong with a motherlode of goodies. In any case, it would probably be kind of us to give the poor guy a rest from all our yammering on about him. Certainly he deserves a break from fandom!!! We aren't just sitting around hoping for news though. We are working on other projects dance related on Matthew Bourne, George Piper Dances, some swoonworthy inductees, more screen caps from Swan Lake and The Car Man and we will have a few captures from Nutcracker! as well. Plus, we've heard some pretty cool news about upcoming productions which we need to get solid confirmation on before we publish. We're giddy with delight though and think you will be too. So, don't run off too far. Those things truly exceptional are well worth the wait. So as not to leave you completely empty handed - this is an oldy, but a goody: Three Hunky Swans. July 8th: Can you really get too much of a good thing? We don't think so; which is why we've planted this lovely little photo here for the time being. Now, if you can tear yourself away from it for the moment....yes, we know...it's not easy. But it is time to spring our dear Angelo from gaol and the nasty paws of the gaoler! Lots of skin and lots of paws in these grabs...no pun intended....well maybe a bit. In any case, these are the last of the jail pics. And before we forget, yet again, The Car Man is now available in Region 1 format, both VHS & DVD - that's US and Canada. Absolutely no excuse not to own it now. You can find it on Amazon.com. File this in the 'fuzzy Frankenstein against a blue screen' section, but Vanshoot had a scooper with a video camera at the Downey, CA location who took a few brief clips of the set, crew and some filming. There are no spoilers in this. In fact we feel like we know even less about the film now than we did before seeing this. One photo of Velkan...that's all we ask .... we could live on it until May 7th!!! Promise. Well perhaps some of the cast will share a few more details (and photos?) with us when they appear at the Comic-Con International convention in San Diego on July 19th. Stephen Sommers, Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale will be there, but not to our knowledge, our Will. He is presumably still enjoying some down time home sweet home London before next month's filming for Remains of the Piano starts up. And that would be it. Hope you've found a way to keep cool in this dastardly heat. July 3rd: A little bit of this and a little bit of that for you. First, as promised, the interview that goes with Will's Car Man Film Diary. Reading through this, especially from the perspective of where he is now, it's great to be able to look back in time and see what he thought might be down the road for him. He was pretty right on about it all. And as with all his other interviews (rare treasures that they are), this one has the same quiet, earnest charm and again affords us the chance to get to know him just a bit more. We're sure you will enjoy it as much as we did. Adam Cooper has been at it again - scribbling away in his diary. Well, more like typing away. Head on over to adam-cooper.com and find out the newest details on the Exeter cast (it's like rubbing salt into the wounds of those of us who can't be there - so we expect lots of details and reviews). Plus, an update on casting for On Your Toes as well.....it just keeps getting better. Uh, one thing though, Adam. We might argue with you on who is the most brilliant choreographer around! But we love ya, so we'll let it slide for now. One last item on the Cooper front, more photos, most of them courtesy of Meg and Non, who've done an all-star job of covering us on both the Kemp and Cooper fronts now. Thanks girls!! Excellent work. Finally, we couldn't possibly let this bit of news go by and not pass the word along as it pertains to George Piper Dances and you know where we stand with that fantastic company. In a press release we've just received, it was announced that: Arts Council and Channel 4 have jointly commissioned 11 new films in their first creative dance collaboration. The films will be broadcast as a part of 4Dance2003, a four part series presented by William Trevitt and Michael Nunn (the Ballet Boyz), who perform in three of the specially commissioned films. The series also features 11 newly acquired films which have not been broadcast. Films will be broadcast every Saturday commencing 19 July at 7:30pm. (nb awaiting final confirmation). Set those vcrs to record!! Happy Fourth of July to all in the USA. Great weekend as well to everyone. |
