The Synopis (Sinopsis)

Leonor of Vibero, is the daughter of a Spanish merchant living in England; a young, curious woman who loves theatre. She must leave London and return to Castilla to marry a wealthy and powerful widower, the duke of Obando. Leonor leaves in London a desolate lover, William Shakespeare, a promising author of comedies who enjoys both the pleasures of the flesh and the applause of the public.

In Spain Leonor meets Miguel de Cervantes, ancient soldier and writer who has lost his self-assurance and faith in his talent. She convinces him, using her capacity of seduction and enthusiasm, to write a comedy to celebrate her marriage to the duke. But just as Leonor starts to break down the author’s resistance, Shakespeare appears unexpectedly; he has decided to follow her to Spain to prevent the marriage of his beloved to the duke.

Leonor makes everyone believe that Shakespeare is a servant; she sees the opportunity to join the unique talent of the two writers in order to have a masterpiece. Cervantes will throw in depth and knowledge; Shakespeare the mastery of humour and theatrical resources. But the lie doesn’t last long. The authors discover the plan and turn into enemies.

Just when the Englishman leaves the palace, another catastrophe happens. The daughters of the duke incite his jealousy and convince him that Leonor has given her lover a valuable family jewel, a wedding gift from the duke. Her future husband is an angry and vindictive man who threatens Leonor: if the jewel does not appear, instead of a wedding there will be an execution.

To help Leonor, despite the rivalry and distrust between them, Cervantes and Shakespeare end up collaborating; they join pen and sword and achieve with much cleverness a battle to fix everything … Or not?
