Will Kemp

A dancer turns into Shakespeare

After
his years as a classic ballet dancer in the Royal Ballet School, Will Kemp would go on to become  known as the <<James Dean of the Ballet>, a nickname given to him by no other than Sherry Lansing, the legendary producer of Paramount Pictures responsible for blockbusters such as Forrest Gump, Titanic and Basic Instinct.

With this pronouncement, how was this young, 5'11' , green-eyed Englishman born on June 29, 1977 in Hertfordshire (greater London) not going to take a chance in the movie business?

He made his debut as an FBI agent in the action thriller
Mind Hunters, directed by Renny Harlin (Cutthroat Island), starring along with Val Kilmer and Christian Slater.

He played the role of The Werewolf, in his second film,
Van Helsing, a horror movie directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy). It is here that he worked with and developed a friendship with actress Elena Anaya.

Kemp is in the leading role now along with Anaya, in
Miguel and William, a romantic comedy directed by Ines Paris, (codirector of My Mother Likes Women) about a very affectionate literary triangle between Miguel de Cervantes (Juan Luis Galiardo) and William Shakespeare (Kemp), in where both writers compete for the heart of the same woman (Anaya).

Will is the son of a graphic designer and an ex-model. His big advantage in action movie roles is his flexibility and the  physical strength that he has mastered by dancing since he was 9 years old and has
reinforced with his hobbies of swimming, scuba diving and roller skating.

He is married to singer and composer Gaby Jamieson, with whom he has a one year old daughter.

Though this film has not yet been released, the third one of his career, his countrymen are already calling him the <<new Orlando Bloom>>.
