She has spent so many years living in England that she feels she is practically English. She has seen and done everything. Nevertheless, she is unable to impart upon Leonor these experiences and therefore is left to merely look on and enjoy the astonishing adventures of this young woman; all the while wishing she herself to be young and free once again to do all the same crazy things.
