| Training: Royal Ballet School. In 1990 Sarah danced the Betrayed Girl in The Rake's Progress in her graduation performance at the school. Theatre: Accepted into the Royal Ballet 1991 Promoted to Soloist 1995 Promoted to Principal 1999 Sarah danced the principal roles in Dame Ninette de Valois' Coppelia, Frederick Ashton's Cinderella, Daphnis and Chloe, Enigma Variations, La Fille Mal Gardee, Ondine and Rhapsody; Kenneth MacMillan's Anastasia, Concerto, Gloria, The Invitation, Manon, and Romeo and Juliet; and Peter Wright's Giselle and The Nutcracker, among many others. Sarah has created roles in ballets by Matthew Hart, Ashley Page, Twyla Tharp and William Tuckett. Sarah left the Royal Ballet in 2001 to freelance. Since then she has guested at the Scottish Ballet as the young girl in Ashton's Two Pigeons and also with the Star Dancers Tokyo in their tribute to Sir Kenneth MacMillian. She created the title role in Matthew Bourne's production of Cinderella, which she performed both in London's West End and in Los Angeles. She was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical for the 2002 Olivier Awards for her performance as The Wife in Susan Stroman's Contact. In 2003 she danced the role of Vera Baranova in On Your Toes at The Royal Festival Hall in London and in Japan in 2004. She created the role of Elizabeth in Frankenstein which premiered in Derby in 2004. In 2005 she created the role of Madame de Tourvel in Adam Cooper's Les Liasons Dangereuses, which premiered in Japan and is scheduled for a London premiere summer of 2005.
