will kemp
What more can I say about Will Kemp that I haven't
already said on nearly every page of this website dedicated
to promoting and celebrating his exceptional talents as both dancer and actor?

Well perhaps a given, that this website would not exist,
let alone a page honoring dancers in general, if I'd never  seen Will dance. Talk about making an impression.

I first saw Will in
Swan Lake, though not as The Swan. But I still zeroed in on him, as I thought he stole the show more than once. It was his performance in The Car Man that left me absolutely stunned.  To this day, I still think it is one of the most touching and brilliant performances I have ever seen. I was so taken with his performance, I can still remember declaring to equally impressed friends, that someday, 'this guy' is going to be a huge star.  And he will be.

It takes someone very good to turn your head and to make you curious. It takes someone much, much better to leave such a profound and lasting impression.

That is the kind of artist that Will is.  And while I gratefully and reverently credit Matthew Bourne for kicking down the doors and barriers to a form of entertainment I had previously found intimidating and hard to understand more often than not, it was watching Will dance and the astounding range of emotions and experiences he was able to communicate without uttering a word, that literally pulled me in for the long run. And though I have since seen many phenominal dancers, still for me, Will has something very unique and  intangible that makes him the best in my book.  And of course, there is that remarkable face.

We all know I could go on and on about his various performances and what he brings to each role. But really I don't need to as it's already documented through-out this website.

So I'll just add this one last bit. By virtue of wanting to know more about
this amazing dancer, I have come to know about other tremendous dancers as well,  and I have also come to discover how beautiful, provocative, breathtaking and moving this art form of dance and its artists truly are. And that opinion grows with each performance I attend.

So that  brings me to this point in time - a webmaster for a fansite - one of the last things I ever imagined myself doing.  I still think it's a bit crazy.  But it is also quite wonderful.  For in addition to becoming a
'fan of dance', I have also met and become friends with many other lovely like-minded people. Therefore, as I write this page, I realize that it is actually about more than just a dancer who takes my breath away.

For had I not seen Will Kemp dance, I can honestly look back and say, that I would have missed out on so much more than just that extraordinary dancer in an unforgettable performance.
